The Scoop

Lennar has sold lots in Hutto Highlands and appears to be vacating Hutto. Read Here. Not only have they sold lots in Hutto Highlands but also Legends of Hutto and Mallard Park. Those of you who live in Hutto Highlands should be concerned as portions of your HOA have been transferred to another entity. Read about it here. You should also be informed that as long as Lennar owns one lot in the community they can ammend or make any changes to the bylaws and ownership of the HOA as they desire without having to inform the community of any changes. Thats the logic of Lennar. Want to read how they are trying to take HuttoParke's right to a court of law away via the HOA bylaws? Read here. Still want to buy Lennar?

After dealing with Lennar and getting numerous emails from Lennar Home owners from all over the country, I can only try and spread the word about this rogue company. They are still repairing homes in Hutto Parke as of today and the results of our survey to date show 100% of Lennar home owners will never buy another lennar home again. Use our experiences to make an educated decision when purchasing your home in Hutto. The pictures don't lie, www.huttoparke.com is just one of many examples of the type of homes Lennar builds. If your looking to buy in Hutto, please do the research. Our pictures and photos of our experieces should be an image that stays with you while searching for a new home. These are Lennar home owners. All land here is expansive in nature which means your home will NEVER settle. Do not allow Lennar to misrepresent any forms, to banks, or the government for those of you seeking FHA or any other type of loan. This is mortgage fraud and is dishonest. If you have information to provide please contact us HERE.

From when I began this site it is obvious to me Lennar has changed the construction of the homes in this neighborhood. It strikes me funny that after the launch of Huttoparke.com and Huttohighlands.com documenting the construction practices of Lennar in our area in hopes of bringing light to the lack of attention to detail we have been recieving, along with picketing the corporate giant, things are changing. Look at this picture of 1010 Cockrill.

The first homes built in this development are typical of huttoparke constuction practices and engineering from what I can tell. Trusses were used and scrap wood was used in places for reinforcement of trusses. Since bringing light of the situation to the city and media Lennar is now using 2x6's and has now implemented the stick built method. Foundations seem to be thicker in my opinion along with many other differences. Look at this foundations thickness. This picture was taken 11-17-07 in Hutto Highlands.

Now look at a picture of a foundation in Hutto Parke.

Why is huttoparke having so many problems on the homes they have previously built? Could it be that corners were cut in many aspects of the construction process? Why was I informed that Lennar's Hutto Highlands aledgedly changed their warranties to not cover nail pops and drywall cracking mirroring what Huttoparke (the neighborhood directly across the street)is going through. We have already recieved complaints from new Lennar Home owners in Hutto Highlands for nail pops and cracks that are not covered under warranty. Why change a warranty instead of building a product to meet the standards a company claims is the logic of Lennar? Could it be Lennar's logic is simply a figment of imagination and the reality is not logic but greed? You be the judge.

Today we focussed our attention on the Grand opening of Lennar's Hutto Highlands and were picketing the front of our neighborhood. While rolling around in my mobile sign I just happened to notice something peculiar at one of the adresses off of cockrill street. There were children working. I approached them and they told me they were working and that they were also 13 and 14 years old. After that they allowed me to take the photos when I told them I was impressed they were such hard workers at such a young age. Impressive for them but not Lennar or their contractors. Shame on you Lennar. I informed the sales representative at the front office and he showed no sign of interest and actually smirked at me. Good grief. Nothing suprises me from Lennar anymore. Its just sad.

While I do have close up photos of these children, I do not feel comfortable letting others mistakes possibly effect their livelyhood.

Home defects are becoming a nationwide epidemic due to a housing boom and the high stress and demand placed on inspectors to get these houses to pass. As a result, shoddy houses are being sold at record numbers to unsuspecting consumers and Hutto Texas is no exception. I am currently in the painstaking process of dealing with Lennar and trying to not only get a real diagnosis on what is happening to our home, but how to properly repair it. I have since traveled over to Hutto Highlands to see if the contractors are still building these new homes the same fashion and they absolutely are. Our house has been diagnosed by DEH Engineering as having truss movement, along with many other problems diagnosed by my own personal inspector. We have been told by Lennar representative Russ that the reason why we are experiencing nails popping through the sheetrock in the ceiling is because of the direction the sheetrock was applied. Why on earth would Lennar continue to build their houses and apply the sheetrock in the exact same fashion in Hutto Highlands if they know that it can be a problem for their customers in just a few months? This makes me feel like we have defective roofs and we are witnessing lennar defects right before our eyes. With this in mind, I have to wonder why my driveway is full of cracks with a cracks that runs straight into the garage and continues into the main slab of the house. These problems point to possible foundation issues.

While looking at the costruction of the new Lennar neighborhood Hutto Highlands, I have noticed several things that seem to be a signature of poor workmanship such as large defects in framework, broken windows, smoke detectors deviating from the fire code by way of their placement on the wall, and giant holes cut into the sheetrock that have to be patched at a later time. I will be updating this site with more information and remember that "EVERYTHING INCLUDED" isn’t always a good thing.

Thank you for visiting Hutto Highlands dot com.
